Autumn Hiking in Mongostos Oak Forest – Mountainous Corinthia
Discover the autumn magic of Mountainous Corinthia through a breathtaking circular hiking tour in the Aesthetic Oak Forest of Mongostos. Hike through one of the last remaining primeval oak forests in the Peloponnese on a day trip that combines vibrant autumn foliage in a Natura 2000 protected area, panoramic views over the Corinthian Gulf, and an authentic traditional group meal.
🔶 What You Will Experience
A fulfilling day in the heart of Peloponnesian nature, blending hiking through a pristine ecosystem with authentic local hospitality. Walk under the shade of ancient oaks, admire sweeping views of the Corinthian Gulf, Mount Helicon, and Mount Parnassus, explore unique geological formations, and end the day enjoying an organized group lunch at a traditional tavern.

🔶 The Trail & Route
Our hiking route is circular with gentle gradients. We begin under the golden autumn oak canopy, walking along a natural carpet of fallen leaves, with the majestic silhouette of Mount Ziria dominating the horizon.
As we advance, the scenery alternates between dense woodland, scenic trails, and lush vineyards. We encounter an optional detour of high geomorphological interest, navigating through vertical cliffs and small natural caves. Mid-route, the landscape opens up to offer panoramic vistas over the Corinthian Gulf and the mountain peaks of Central Greece.

The path is rich in autumn colors and aromatic flora, with strawberry trees adding vibrant touches to the scenery. Upon completing our hike, we board our private bus for a short transfer to a traditional tavern to enjoy our group meal.
