River Trekking on the Krathis River & Mesorrougi Waterfall

On Sunday 12/07/2026, we invite you to a special summer River Trekking experience on the Krathis River, on the green slopes of Mount Chelmos, where the river flows through forests, rocky formations, small waterfalls and running waters, creating one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of mountainous Achaia.

🔶 What You Will Experience

A refreshing summer river trekking experience on one of the most beautiful rivers in the Peloponnese.

The Krathis River is one of the most important rivers of the northern Peloponnese. It begins on the slopes of Mount Chelmos, connects with Lake Tsivlou, continues through the Peristeronas Gorge and flows into the Corinthian Gulf, in the area of Akrata.

Our route follows one of the most beautiful sections of the river, through an environment full of plane trees, running waters and rich vegetation. From the very first steps, we enter a cool natural setting where water, rocks and the shade of the trees create an experience very different from a classic hike.

During the activity, we will move next to and inside the river, following its natural flow. The small waterfalls, clear waters, plane tree roots and shaded sections make River Trekking on the Krathis River an ideal choice for anyone looking for a summer outdoor experience in nature.

The experience combines hiking, river trekking and exploration in a natural field, always with guidance, support and organized supervision from the team of Wanderlust Outdoor Activities & Travel.

During the day, we will also visit Mesorrougi Waterfall, a beautiful natural spot in the area, hidden within the rich vegetation of Mount Chelmos. This stop perfectly complements the overall experience of the route, which stands out mainly for the journey next to and inside the Krathis River.

The area has preserved its authentic character and offers images that are hard to find so close to Athens. The water, the shade of the plane trees and the feeling of escape from everyday life create an ideal summer experience for those who love nature and exploration.
