Mount Helicon – Ascent to Paliovouna Summit
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, we return to Mount Helicon with the goal of reaching the summit of Paliovouna at 1,730 metres, launching the second year of the Wanderlust Peaks Project!
In the heart of Central Greece, where nature meets mythology, Mount Helicon rises majestically and timelessly. An authentic mountaineering experience along a route that combines fir forest, open mountain slopes, rocky terrain and a strong historical and mythological identity.
Following our attempt last May, which could not be completed due to adverse weather conditions, we return to Mount Helicon with the same goal: to reach the summit of Paliovouna together!

🔶 The Mythology & History of Mount Helicon
Mount Helicon is one of Greece’s most legendary mountains. According to ancient Greek tradition, it was the home of the Muses — the goddesses of the arts and inspiration. It was also the location of the renowned Hippocrene spring, which, according to mythology, was created when Pegasus struck the ground with his hoof, offering humanity the gift of inspiration.
In ancient times, Mount Helicon was a place of worship and culture, while its paths were travelled by poets, philosophers and pilgrims. Even today, the sense of this timeless presence remains alive throughout the route.
