Trekking With your Dog in Oak Forest Moggostou

On Saturday, November 22 we invite you to a special Trekking with your Dog activity in the Moggostos Oak Forest in mountainous Corinthia — a hike dedicated to you and your four-legged friend!

🔶 What is “Trekking with your Dog”

An outdoor experience that combines hiking in nature with the joy of your dog’s companionship. Through this activity, the human–dog bond is strengthened and both enjoy healthy physical release in a safe, organized environment.

🔶 The Moggostos Oak Forest

Moggostos Oak Forest is one of the last remnants of the ancient oak forests of the Peloponnese and has been part of the NATURA 2000 network since 1977. Among the centuries-old oaks you’ll find species such as black pine, Aleppo pine, heather, strawberry tree, phillyrea, juniper and wildflowers — a natural setting ideal for hiking and exploration.

The loop trail totals 10 km, is easy with gentle gradients, and is suitable for children.

🔶 What we’ll enjoy along the route

• Rich natural scenery with oak woods and vineyards
• Views of the Corinthian Gulf and the mountains of Boeotia and Phocis
• Elevation around 900 m with crisp mountain air

🔶 Training & Collaboration

During the hike there will be a talk and Q&A by dog trainer Petros Sidereas. Thanks to this collaboration, the project is carried out with full safety for people and animals, offering knowledge and practical tools for better communication with your dog.

🔶 Car Pooling & Environmental Awareness

For practical and environmental reasons, we will create a group chat 3 days before the activity to facilitate car pooling and avoid using many cars.

🔶 Spots for Shelter Dogs

We offer 2 free spots for dogs from animal shelters so they can enjoy a beautiful walk in nature. Interested volunteers can contact us.

🔶 Important Information

• Flex leashes and choke collars are not allowed.
• Dogs should not be fed 6–8 hours before the walk.
• Bring treats, water, a bowl, your dog’s favorite toy, and waste bags.
• A valid pet health booklet is required.
