Trekking With Your Dog | Dog Friendly Hiking in the Aesthetic Forest of Mount Ymittos

Sunday, 7 June – Trekking With Your Dog, one of the most recognized projects of Wanderlust Outdoor Activities & Travel, takes place on Mount Ymittos, inside the Kaisariani Aesthetic Forest. A structured and safe dog friendly hiking experience in Athens that brings people and their dogs together through the joy of nature.

Wanderlust was the first to introduce organized hiking with dogs in Greece and continues to develop a project that has been embraced by hundreds of participants over the years, building a strong and active dog-friendly outdoor community.

🔶 Activity Description

The project is led by Petros Sidereas, founder of CityZen Dogs and coordinator of the Training With Your Dog program. With professional expertise and a clear methodology, he provides practical guidance on proper dog handling in a mountain environment. The experience is open both to dog owners and to participants who wish to join without a dog and simply enjoy an organized hike on Mount Ymittos.

🔶 Social Contribution

Wanderlust offers two free spots for shelter dogs so they can also experience hiking in the mountains. Volunteers from animal welfare organizations are welcome to contact us to express their interest. This initiative strengthens the social and responsible character of the project.

• Meeting point: Kaisariani Fire Lookout – Mount Ymittos
• Only fixed leashes are allowed – choke collars are not permitted
• It is recommended that dogs do not eat 6–8 hours before the activity
• Updated electronic health booklet required
• Bring treats, water, bowl, favorite toy and waste bags
